Player Assessments & Team Drafting for Minors, Majors, and Juniors
For the upcoming 2025 season, all players registered in the Minors, Majors, and Juniors divisions are required to attend assessments.
Pee Wee, T-Ball, and Rookie players are not required to attend.
Assessment Dates
When:
📅 February 21st & 22nd
(More details to come on specific times and locations)
What to Bring for Assessments:
- Clothing: Comfortable and weather-appropriate (no bulky coats).
- Shoes: Tennis shoes only; no cleats allowed.
- Mitt: Please bring a mitt.
- Bats:
- Baseball players: RLL will provide bats, but players can bring their own USA Baseball-approved bat with the appropriate logo. Non-approved bats will not be allowed.
- Softball players: Welcome to bring their own bat if they prefer.
Assessment Process
During assessments, players will participate in various skill stations, including catching, throwing, and pitching. Coaches from each division will be observing and taking notes to prepare for team drafting.
Important Information on Team Drafting
- Draft Process: Coaches will draft their own teams based on assessment notes. This is not a tryout—all players will be placed on a team.
- Missed Assessments: Players who miss assessments (due to illness, other commitments, or late registration) will be placed in a blind draft on drafting day.
- Team Requests: RLL does not consider requests to play with specific coaches or players in these divisions due to the draft process.
We understand players have other commitments, but attendance at assessments is essential for a fair and balanced draft process.
